FIFA has officially declared the names of the 10 players in contention for the Golden Boot award generally given to the championship's most exceptional player. Four Germans, three Argentines, and one player every from Brazil, Colombia and the Netherlands are competing for the in demand trophy, won by Uruguayan Diego Forlan in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

While Lionel Messi and Thomas Muller will be crown favorites, on the other hand Neymar will remain a sentimental choice after a back injury ruined his campaign in the tournament. Strikingly, there is no Ronaldo in the shortlist. Portugal had failed to move on to the second step of the FIFA world cup 2014. The victors of the Golden Ball, Silver Ball and Bronze Ball will all be declared after Sunday's Final between Argentina vs. Germany.
